Admissions Policy
Students are admitted on an annual basis and should be:
- Three (3) years old by August 1 of the given school year to enter the preschool program.
- Five (5) years old by August 1 of the given school year to be admitted to the kindergarten program.
- Six (6) years old by August 1 of the given school year to enter grade one.
Preschool students that turn three (3) years old by October 1 will be admitted on their birthday provided they are fully potty trained and ready for a school environment.
Guidelines for school admission are as follows:
Students who have registered for Grades K-8 and qualify for acceptance will be accepted in the following order:
- Children of school families registered in the parish with siblings enrolled.
- Children of school families registered in the parish with a child/children enrolling in St. James for the first time.
- Children of school families not registered in the parish with siblings enrolled. (Non-parishioners).
- Children of school families not registered in the parish with a child/children enrolling in St. James for the first time. (Non-parishioners)
No application will be refused without due consideration of extenuating circumstances..
