Tuition Assistance at St. James School
  • The Saint James Parish Community, as approved by the Parish Council, will provide $19,000 annually in tuition assistance to be divided among needy families enrolled at Saint James School.

  • Saint James Parish and non-parish families will be eligible for tuition assistance from the Saint James Parish Tuition Assistance Fund (The Fund).

  • Undesignated tuition donations will be included with the The Fund.

  • Designated tuition donations will be awarded to identified families. Additional assistance from The Fund will be available, if so determined by the Financial Review Board (F.R.B.).

  • The F.R.B. will award assistance according to need.

  • Applicants must submit applications for tuition assistance to the Catholic Education Fund (C.E.F.) and the School Choice Scholarship Fund (S.C.S.F.) prior to receiving assistance from The Fund. These forms are usually available in February in the school office and will need to be completed by the beginning of March.

  • Copies of C.E.F. and S.C.S.F. applications must be submitted with a completed Saint James Church Tuition Assistance Application Form (Attachment A).

  • Saint James Church Tuition Assistance Application Forms must be received by May 15.

  • Tuition assistance awards will be based upon the information received from the C.E.F., S.C.S.F., St James applications and any interviews conducted by the Financial Review Board.

  • The Fund will maintain emergency dollars to be distributed throughout the school year if needed.

  • Applicants must submit a completed St James Church Emergency Tuition Assistance Application Form (Attachment B).

  • Emergencies include loss of job, serious illness, death, and other life events that could negatively affect the caregiver’s ability to pay tuition.

  • The F.R.B. will determine distribution of emergency dollars based upon the following:

    1. Emergency Tuition Assistance Funds available.

    2. Amount of St James Tuition Assistance already granted to the requestor for the current school year Requestor’s Time & Talent support of St James School.

    3. Requestor’s Time, Talent & Treasure support of their church of attendance.

    4. If Emergency Tuition Funds are limited, a reduced monthly payment plan may be granted with the understanding that the outstanding tuition balance will be resolved before the start of the next school year.
