Name: Jessica Pilkerton
7th & 8th Grade ClassMs. Jessica Pilkerton earned her Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts at Indiana University Southeast. She graduated May of 2017 earning "High Distinction" and representing the class of 2017 by giving the Commencement Speech. She plans on pursuing her Master's in Educational Psychology and eventually work towards a Doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education.
While attending Indiana University Southeast, Ms. Pilkerton began working as a substitute teacher for New Albany, Floyd County, Greater Clark County, and Harrison County school districts back in 2014. By 2016, she accepted the position as the Varsity Head Field Hockey Coach at her alma mater, Butler Traditional High School, where she presently resides as coach. Before graduating, Ms. Pilkerton student taught 9th Grade Honors English and 10th Grade Remedial English at a Greater Clark County Community school. Upon graduation, she was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honors society for the top leaders entering the field of education.
After graduation, Ms. Pilkerton began her job hunt through various school districts in the her hometown, Louisville, and luckily found her way to St. James where she currently is teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, Religion, World Geography, and 5th/6th grade U.S. History. Her background in education has well prepared her for this school year. Classes will be differentiated, educational, and fun!
Ms. Pilkerton will soon become Mrs. Clark. She and her fiance, Wes Clark, will be married, June 30th, 2018, after having been together since high school.
