I am honored that Saint James School appointed me as the new Principal. I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increased expectations for all students and engaging the community, it is our goal at Saint James School that all children experience positive intellectual, moral, emotional, and physical growth within a Christ-centered atmosphere.
I grew up here in Louisville where I attended Catholic schools. I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S in Special Education and received my Master’s Degree in Computer Software Engineering from National University in San Diego, California. I completed my Doctoral studies in Education and Social Change at Bellarmine University.
I began my teaching career as a special education teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools at Peace Academy. After one year, I moved to San Diego, California where I worked as a middle school special education teacher for San Diego Unified School District and a preschool and Kindergarten special education teacher for Oceanside Unified School District. While living in Atlanta, Georgia I worked for Gwinnett County Schools as a curriculum expert and online course developer for Georgia Virtual Schools. Currently, I am adjunct faculty for Bellarmine University in the college of education.
I have had the superb opportunity of being apart of many diverse environments. After working as a teacher in Kentucky, California, Georgia and studying the education system in England at the University of Roehampton I actively support the sentiments of Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela stated, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” When everyone has access to quality education it will empower people and create a better society.
I come with a great deal of experience and have been blessed with many opportunities to lead and inspire staff and students. I look forward to furthering the mission of Saint James. I will emphasize a balance of spiritual, intellectual and physical growth from which socially and morally responsible leaders will emerge. I will work together with the entire school community to meet the needs of all students and to achieve academic excellence while building a strong faith in God.
As part of my regular routine once school begins, you will find me out and about on campus during morning arrivals, afternoon dismissals and throughout the day conducting brief observations of student learning within the classrooms. I am looking forward to fostering a friendly, trusting relationship with the school, parish and parents for the ongoing development and benefit of each child.
I am thankful to have this opportunity to be your principal this coming school year. If you would like to contact me, my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org or you can reach me by phone at 502-454-0330.
