St. James School Afterschool Care
Before/After School and Summer/Holiday Care Available
Before and after school care, as well as teacher professional days, Easter, Christmas, and summer day care programs are available for Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten, and Grades K–6. Information concerning days of operation will be distributed in the bi-weekly newsletter (Pony). A summer camp is offered beginning the day after the last day of school and continuing to the beginning of August. K - 8 students participate in field trips with at least one day of swimming per week. Preschoolers are taught by St. James staff with a different theme each week. Afterschool Care School Closing Information When weather conditions cause school openings to be questionable, one of the following announcements will be made on radio or TV for Catholic Schools in Jefferson County: 1. All Catholic elementary schools in Jefferson County are closed. (Our Pre- School and Pre-Kindergarten will be closed.) Parents with children in the daycare program must call St. James (454-0330, [ext.26 or 11] or 473-1506) to check if staff has arrived before dropping off children. 2. If Catholic Schools are on a delayed schedule, Pre-school and Pre- Kindergarten will begin at regular time. 3. Catholic elementary schools in Jefferson County will be open, but on a delayed schedule. The Pre-School and Pre-K will open at regular time. Events for Sunday, May 19th Pentecost Baccalaurate Mass 11:00AM-1:00PM The annual baccalaureate mass for graduating 8th graders will be held at 11:00 a.m. mass. A reception will be held in the Colette Dumstorf Auditorium immediately following the mass. Events for Monday, May 20th 8th Grade Graduation 7:00PM-9:00PM The 107th St. James School 8th grade graduation exercises will take place in St. James Catholic Church. A reception will follow immediately in the Colette Dumstorf Auditorium Events for Tuesday, May 21st Awards Day 1:00PM-2:30PM Awards will be presented to students in grades kindergarten - 7th grade. It will take place in church. Events for Wednesday, May 22nd Last Day of School, Dismissal 11:45 a.m. 7:45AM-11:45AM Due to the unused inclement weather days, the last day of school has been moved to today.
